Use Reports In Your Daily Work (Quick Guide)

Quick start for day-to-day reporting, analysis mode, and Excel exports.

Reporting in Bevica helps you review performance, spot issues, and answer day-to-day questions quickly. Use this page as a quick guide to the reporting options you are most likely to use each day.

For a more comprehensive reporting overview for users, report writers, and developers, see Reporting in Bevica - Overview

Start with on-screen operational tools, then move into management reporting, dashboards, and financial reporting as needed.

Microsoft also provides an overview:

Use list pages

Using personalisation and filters, list pages provide quick on-screen data analysis. You can also use Share to Teams or Copy Link to share the information with others.

Many pages have a drop-down that displays predefined filtered views and related links.

Export to Excel and Edit in Excel

Excel is a powerful tool to work with data. From inside Business Central, you can open any list in Excel. You can even modify data in Excel and then submit it back to Business Central.

Use data analysis mode

Data analysis lets you analyse data directly from list pages, without running a report or opening another application such as Excel. It provides an interactive way to calculate, summarise, and examine data.

Instead of running reports with different options and filters, you can add multiple tabs for different tasks or views of the data. Examples include "Inventory by Duty Status", "Sales by Customer", "Recently added vendors", and "Sales statistics".

You can use analysis mode on:

  • General Ledger Entries for finance summaries

  • Customer Ledger Entries for customer financial summaries

  • Vendor Ledger Entries for vendor financial summaries

  • Item Ledger Entries for stock-related quantity and value summaries

  • Sales List / Open Sales Lines for operational summaries

  • Purchase List / Open Purchase Lines for operational summaries

Run templated reports

Reports help you collect and display data based on specific criteria. They organise and present information in an easy-to-read format you can print or save as a file. There are many reports available throughout the application. These reports typically relate to the page you are on. For example, the Customer page includes reports for the top 10 customers, sales statistics, and more.

Reports can be printed, saved as PDF, emailed, or previewed. You can also schedule them to run at preset times.

Connect Excel to Bevica

Create reusable PivotTable analysis in Excel based on Bevica data. Using Web Services and OData, you can publish Bevica tables for reporting. For setup steps, see Connecting Excel to Bevica (Web Services & OData).

Use Role Centres, KPIs, and charts

Bevica Role Centre tiles show key KPIs for your role. Click a tile to open the related information. Tiles can also change colour based on predefined metrics.

Use finance reports and dimensions

The Financial Reports feature gives you insight into the financial data stored in your chart of accounts (COA). You can set up financial reports to analyse figures in general ledger (G/L) accounts and compare general ledger entries with budget entries.

Dimensions play an important role in business intelligence. A dimension is a value you add to an entry as a parameter. Dimensions let you group entries with similar characteristics, such as customers, regions, products, and salespeople. Learn more in Work with Dimensions.

Review financial reporting

Bevica includes financial reports and on-screen views to help you track general, sales, purchase, and inventory ledger data.

  • General Ledger Entries - use filters to reduce the number of rows, for example by G/L Account, Posting Date, and Dimensions
