Item Group Codes, MAT and Forecasting

Group items for MAT reporting and demand forecasting.

Item Group Codes let group items together for the purposes of sales analysis (Moving Annual Totals reporting) and forecasting.

Prerequisites

• Vendors, Customers, Items and Location setup.
• Item Group Codes are added to items.
• Item Sales History is populated, this is the basis for the sales data. This can be historic data, Business Central data or a mix of both. See Item History (Sales).

Item Group Codes

Item Group Codes in Bevica can be used to help group your items together for reporting and replenishment.

Typically, an Item Group Code is used to group the same product and base unit, across vintages.

Item Group Code fields

Field	Function
Code	The identifier for this Item Group
Description	Typically used as a standard reporting description.
No. Items	How many items are linked to this Item Group Code.
Replenishment Item No.	For the Requisition Worksheet - identifies the item which will be replenished based on aggregate sales across the linked items.
Country/Region of Origin Code	Used for filtering and reporting, it defaults from the Replenishment Item No. and can be changed manually.
Item Category Code	Used for filtering and reporting, it defaults from the Replenishment Item No. and can be changed manually.
Vendor No.	Used for filtering and reporting, it defaults from the Replenishment Item No. and can be changed manually.
Lead Time Calculation	Used with the Vendor's Lead Time Calculation to suggest a combined lead time on the Item Group MAT Analysis - Item History
Percentage	% increase/decrease to adjust forecasting
Weighting Factor	For 3 Month Weighted Average Only. Determines the weighting applied to the first month.
Prediction Rule	The forecast basis. See below

Items

Each item can be assigned an Item Group Code, this assigns that code to Sales History and Bevica ILE entries.

If you change the Item Group Code to an item that already has transactions, you then need to run a routine to refresh those transactions. Navigate to Bevica Setup, Related, Operations, Item Group Codes & Forecasting, Update Item Group Codes for History & MAT.

Using the Item Group Code and Item History (Sales) you can create simple sales forecast to help with purchasing decisions, which can then be used in the Requisition Worksheet. See Item Group Forecasting
