Distribution Costs Management Permissions

Permission sets required to use Distribution Costs Management features and pages.

Business Central comes with default Permission Sets. These allow you to manage what your Users have or don't have access to in the software. The majority are created and managed by Microsoft, others exist to manage installed Extensions. The ones listed below manage access to Distribution Costs Management (DCM) specific functionality.

Prerequisites

Users have been created.

Understanding how Permission Sets are created, modified and applied to Users.

Distribution Costs Management extension installed.

Permission Sets

Distribution Costs Management has a number of permission sets that should be used in conjunction with other permission sets in the software.

To see the specific details behind any permissions set, navigate to it and view its Read, Insert, Modify, Delete, Execute privileges.

Distribution Costs Management

There is one Super User permission set:

• TVT DCM SUPER - gives Users complete access to all DCM data (this includes Additional Charges and Delivery Charges). No further DCM permission sets are required if a user is assigned this set. For Super Users should be used in conjunction with the SUPER permission.

Document Additional Charges

There are three permission sets that control access to Additional Charges (AC) related data.

• TVT DCM AC SETUP - assign this to Users need to access the Additional Charge Setup page.
• TVT DCM AC EDIT - assign this to anyone who manages document additional charges.
• TVT DCM AC VIEW - assign this to all other users who view document additional charges.

Delivery Charges

There is one permission set that controls access to Delivery Charges (DC) related data.

• TVT DCM SETUP - assign this to Users who need to set up Delivery Zones and Delivery Charges.

These DCM permission sets cannot be changed but can be copied to create new ones. These can then be changed as required, i.e. a number of permission sets can be combined into one or permissions split into multiple for more granular access to the system.
