Assembly BOM Component Template

Use this template to import Assembly BOM Components.

Import items and resources first. Then load the BOM lines.

Before you start

You need:

• ​Configuration Worksheet

You need to understand how Assembly Orders use BOMs.

When to use this template

Export it from Configuration Worksheet on the BOM Component line.

BOM Component lines are used to populate Assembly Orders with the components needed to create an output/finished item.

Step-by-step

Export the template

1. Open Configuration Worksheet.
2. Select the BOM Component line.
3. Select Excel → Export to Template.

Populate rows

1. Create one row per BOM line.. Make sure Parent Item No. exists.. Make sure the component No. exists (Item or Resource). Use Line No. increments of 10000.

Import and apply

1. Select Excel → Import from Template.
2. Fix any errors in the preview.
3. Select Apply Data.

4) Verify

1. Open the parent item card.
2. Select Assembly BOM.
3. Confirm components and quantities.

Field reference (template columns)

Field list

The template has the following fields:

1 Parent Item No.	(27) Item	Code 20 (Mandatory)	Enter the output item.
2 Line No.		Decimal (Mandatory)	Populate a unique number for the line.
3 Type		Option (Mandatory)	Must be either Item or Resource.
4 No.	(27) Item / (156) Resource	Code 20 (Mandatory)	Enter the component Item or Resource No.
6 Description		Text 100	Should be populated with the item/resource description.
7 Unit of Measure Code	(5404) Unit of Measure	Code 20	Any value entered here must already exist in its related table.
8 Quantity Per		Decimal (Mandatory)	Enter the number of units of the component item required for each unit of the parent item.
5402 Variant Code	(5401) Item Variants	Code 20	Where necessary, enter the required Variant Code related to the item

The results can be seen on the Item List / Card pages by selecting the ribbon option Assembly BOM.
